Girl Friends Only

This is the reception of Cecilia's Baptism in North Susana Clubhouse on March 2009. On the table are our neighbors in Metrogreen Village, Pasig. (L-R, Ninang Lyn, her daughter Aileen, her son Nico (is this Nico?), and Ninong Nick; Daddy; Kathrina Tiu Dy and her mom)

It was a shock when we all heard the news that Kat passed away. She was a childhood neighborhood kalaro (imagine: mga batang kalsada sa mga kalye ng Metrogreen nung puro talahib pa ang Pasig-Cainta, mga batang naglalaro ng patintero, nagbabahay-bahayan at "eagle-eagle" sa mga construction ng mga bagong bahay). Then we had menstruation, started seeing boys, went to college, got our own paychecks. And then I had Cecilia.

She gave Cecilia's gift -- Baby Couture bag. We said we really needed to get together. She got my number, I got hers. We were about to meet a week after Cecilia's baptism for Coffee. -- This is what we always say to an old close "best" friend we happen to bump into after 4 years of highschool, or after Ballet school, or after those weekly saturday night outs.

Then you both forget that you even have each other's number.
